The manufacturing process of Sponge
Iron aims at reducing the oxygen content
in iron-ore to make it porous. When
observed under a microscope, it
resembles a honeycomb structure, looking
spongy in texture; from which it derives
its name. |

The quality of Sponge
Iron is ascertained by the percentage of
metallisation or removal of oxygen,
which is the ratio of metallic iron to
the total iron present in the product.
Sponge Iron manufactured by us is
distinct due to its high metallic iron
content and consistent chemical and
physical characteristics. This provides
furnace owners flexibility in preparing
their charge to produce finer quality
than what is possible using scrap
only. |
