JBIL is the flagship company of our Group and is one of the largest steel producers in the private sector in Eastern India. JBIL is an Integrated Steel Plant with five manufacturing facilities located in Durgapur and Raniganj in West Bengal and Durg in Chhattisgarh. A sixth unit for manufacturing 5 million tonnes of steel and 3 million tonnes of cement and generating 1215 MW of power is being set up in Purulia, West Bengal, involving investments of USD 3.2 billion. While a Memorandum of Agreement has already been signed with the State Government, about 1,455 acres of land of the total of 3,800 acres required for the project have already been acquired.

JBIL had set up the first Mini DRI Plant in West Bengal in 1999, which revolutionized the manufacturing processes of steel plants in the state. Today, we are the one of the largest manufacturers of DRI in the region and have since progressed into manufacture of intermediary and finished steel.

We also manufacture Thermex TMT Bars, under the brand name Balaji Shakti, which is a respected name among civil contractors and real estate developers for quality steel. Indeed we have supplied steel to various projects of national importance undertaken by NTPC Limited, Power Grid Corporation of India Limited, NHPC Limited, National Highway Authorities of India, etc.
